About Us

Purpose: 
The North Texas Athletic Trainers’ Society is a social, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the communication, continuing education, and professionalism of the North Texas athletic training community, and to the promotion and enhancement of the athletic training profession in general.


Objectives:

Organize and execute an annual Student Symposium that delivers educational opportunities and promotes the athletic training profession
- Plan social events to create a culture of networking among area athletic trainers

Maria Rosanelli Allen, MEd, LAT, ATC

Maria completed her Master's of Education at Missouri State University and received a B.S. in Health & Human Performance from Northeastern State University. She has 17 years of experience as an AT- currently in her 12th year at RHS, 4th as Head AT and formerly worked at University of Texas at Dallas, Austin College & Missouri
Southern State University.​

Aaron Thomas, MAT, LAT, ATC

Aaron Thomas completed his Bachelors of Science in Exercise Sport Science at Texas Tech University in 2010. He then completed his Masters in Athletic Training at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in 2012. He has 9 years of experience all as a Head Athletic Trainer. He has worked previously for Crane ISD and Terrell ISD. He is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at John Horn High School in Mesquite ISD where he is in his 6th year. Guns Up!

Marc MeGill,  MEd,  LAT, ATC

Marc Megill is in his 31st year as Head Athletic Trainer at Cedar Hill ISD. He received Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from the University of Texas-Arlington and the University of Louisiana-Monroe, respectively. He holds his state license as well as National certification in athletic training. He currently is serving in his 21st year as the treasurer for NTATS. Wife (Tammy), Daughters: AnaLisa  and Sophie.

Bianca Broughton is in her 5th year as Campus Athletic Trainer at Dallas ISD. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and her Master’s degree from The University of North Texas. She was previously an Assistant Athletic Trainer with North Carolina State University.

Keysha Brown, MS, LAT, ATC
​Keysha Brown is a BOC Certified and State Licensed Athletic Trainer. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a Masters of Science degree in Health, Kinesiology, and Sports Studies from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She is currently the Head Athletic Trainer for Garland ISD Swimming & Diving. Keysha was previously the Co-Head Athletic trainer at Naaman Forest High School for 12 years. She also served as the Girl’s Athletic Coordinator for two years.

Sophia Gutierrez

Sophia Gutierrez is a BOC Certified and State Licensed Athletic Trainer. She has a BA in Kinesiology from St. Edward's University, and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from UT-Arlington. She is currently the Head Athletic Trainer at Midlothian Heritage High School.  Outside of work, you can find her spending time with family, cooking in the kitchen, or traveling to fun new places!

Neal Stepp DAT, LAT, ATC
Dr. Neal Stepp is currently in his first year as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Texas Christian University. He received a BS in Athletic Training from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2017, a Master of Science in Recreation and Sports Management from Florida International University in 2019, and received his Doctorate in Athletic Training in 2021. Outside of working and advocating for the athletic training profession you can find Dr. Stepp going for runs!

Stephanie Jevas, PhD, LAT, ATC
Dr. Stephanie Jevas is finishing her 17th year in higher education and is currently a Professor of Professional Practice and the Director for the Athletic Training Program at Texas Christian University. She received an undergraduate degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University, a Master’s degree in Physical Education/Athletic Training from Western Michigan University and a PhD in Psychological Aspects of Movement from the University of Houston. Prior to her time in higher education, Dr. Jevas worked as an Athletic Trainer in both the high school and clinical/rehabilitation settings for over 10 years and continues to practice clinically. She is an active member within the Athletic Training profession and currently serves in volunteer positions for both NTATS and SWATA.  She is actively involved in interprofessional activities including serving as a coordinator and facilitator for interprofessional education, TeamSTEPPS instructor, and presenting at interprofessional conferences.

​Sara Nuechterlein MEd, LAT, ATC
Sara is in her 7th year as a Certified Athletic Trainer. She currently in her third year working as the WorkStrategies Coordinator for Baylor, Scott, and White Institute for Rehabilitation, as well as serving as the Athletic Trainer for Fort Worth Police. Sara received a BS in Athletic Training from California State University- Fresno in 2015, and a Master of Education, High Education Leadership in 2017 from TCU. Aside from her participation in NTATS, Sara is also the co-chair of the SWATA Program Committee, adjuct faculty at TCU, CEU coordinator for BSWIR-SportsHealth, and a health and safety lecturer for the City of Fort Worth. While not working, you can find Sara camping, fishing, hunting, kayaking, and relaxing with her husband Eric, and their two dogs Pearl and Bowser.

Jordan Greene, MS, LAT, ATC
Jordan Greene completed a Bachelor of Science in Multidisciplinary Studies from McMurry University in 2010 and then went on to get her Master's of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2013. She has been working as the Associate Athletic Trainer at Wylie High School since 2013. Outside of work, you can find Jordan relaxing, spending time with her dog, reading, and hanging out with friends and family.

Kyle Tribble, LAT, ATC
​Kyle currently serves as the Coordinator of Sports Medicine/Head Athletic Trainer at White Settlement ISD. For more than 18 years, Kyle has served as an athletic trainer in secondary schools and has provided support services to more than 11 UIL State Championship teams. Previously, Kyle has also held positions as an Athletic Trainer for DeSoto ISD (2007–2018), and as the Head Athletic Trainer for Huntsville ISD (2003–2007). Kyle earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from the University of Texas at Arlington. In addition to being licensed by the State of Texas and certified by the National Athletic Training Association BOC to practice as an Athletic Trainer, Kyle also holds several advanced certifications for sports performance in Fascial Abrasion Technique, Myo-Matrix Fascial Release, and Functional Integrated Dry Needling. Kyle has also served on the Public Relations Committee for the Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association, and currently, he serves as the Vendor Chair for the North Texas Athletic Trainers’ Society.

Matt Blimline, LAT, ATC
​Matt Blimline received his bachelor’s degree from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and his master's is from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and is currently working toward his doctorate from St. Augustine.  He has served on various committees on the local, district, state, and national levels. Matt has been an Athletic Trainer for 32 years and holds both state licensure and his national BOC certification. His time as an Athletic Trainer has included pro, minor league, collegiate, high schools, and clinical settings. Currently, he is the Head Athletic Trainer at Greenhill School in Addison.

Todd Urbanek, LAT
​Todd received his BS Degree in Education in 1986 from Texas Christian University.  He retired from public school after 28 years and works for Baylor Scott & White SportsCare.  Todd spent 5 years at Amarillo Tascosa High School, 5 years at Boswell High School and 18 years at Azle High School as Head Athletic Trainer / Teacher.  Azle Student Trainers won the NTATS Student Trainer Olympics in 2005.  He is married, has 4 Kids and 4 Grandkids.
